Six professional performers bring their talents to your training facility on CD, as they present each facet of a domestic relationship set to music. You will feel the emotion, as they dispel the DV myths set to tent revival gospel music. They waltz, as they boastfully proclaim the abuses heaped on the victim and the fact that men, as well as women, are victims of DV. They tango thru the tactics of the abuser and why DV is so difficult to curtail. They line dance and reveal the effectiveness of the abuser’s control over the victim. The abuser justifies his actions to the rhythm of a soft shoe tune. A singing telegram presents an apology for beating her. The abuser describes the gifts he buys to get her to stay or come back after beatings he gives her set to Latin Reggae. To the blues, the victim expresses her feelings about her dilemma and why she doesn’t leave. She sings about her options to get out and the impact on the children (50’s do wop). A ballad, entitled Listen, Listen, Listen, explains what needs to be done by friends and family to help the victim get to a safe place and explains victim may need their help. Documentation outlines the things that are important to prove a case.
A musical interlude offers time to reflect on the large amount of emotional information presented and determine the action to be taken.
An absolute “must to set” the mood for your training and awareness programs. This CD will hang these DV concepts on musical hooks in the mind of your students. They won’t forget them, as they hum the songs they hear.
